Fiat Chrysler is recalling more than 60,000 Alfa Romeos due to a faulty cruise control system.
The adaptive cruise control software in Giulia and Stelvio models manufactured from 2017 through to 2019 can run into a glitch where it won’t disconnect after the driver taps the brakes. In some cases, the system can even cause the vehicle to start accelerating.
Alfa Romeo is advising people not to use cruise control until it is repaired. If it is used, a longer press on the brakes can turn the system off apparently.
Alfa Romeo reckons no crashes or injuries have resulted from the issue.
Owners will be notified next month as to when they will be able to update the system software.
